The cities like Patna and New Delhi are best for business

According to World Bank, Patna and New Delhi are the two best cities for starting a business whereas, out of 17 cities Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar and hyderabad are the cities where it is easier to commence a business. Hence, Patna was ranked at 14 number above Chennai which is at 15th place while Kolkata was at the bottom. To begin a business it is necessary to calculate the essential steps to enable small or medium resourcefulness in commercial or industrial activities to function legally in 17 Indian cities which includes inspections, permits, notifications and inscriptions.

The report also said that doing business is easy in Ludhiana, followed by New Delhi, Gurgoan, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar and Guwahati. The report also mentioned that India is best for starting any business. It is said that to commence a business is the fastest in Mumbai and Noida, while in cost terms business in Patna is least expensive.World Bank financial and private sector development Acting Vice-President Penelope Brook said that reforms that cut red tape explain property rights and streamline regulatory agreement.


The report ranks the cities on seven parameters that are starting a business, enforcing contracts ,dealing with construction permits, trading across borders ,registering property, paying taxes and closing a business. It is easier to pay taxes in Jaipur, Ludhiana, and Noida while it is difficult in Patna, Chennai and Kolkata. Therefore, it is the easy to export and import goods from Bhubaneshwar while it is difficult from Gurgaon.
