Dalai Lama says in an interview that China is not ready to accept that there is a problem between its government and Tibet. After his recent controversial meeting with President Obama, the spiritual leader of Tibet told CNN's "Larry King Live" that though China claims Tibetans are very happy than previous but he noted that his Tibetan government in exile has received information indicating “suppression.... or restrictions” culturally and religiously of the Tibetan people. China rejects Tibetan demands of independence or greater autonomy and claims sovereignty over the area. But the Dalai Lama, who lives in exile in India, cleared King that Tibetans "are not seeking independence." Lama told that they have problems with damaging policy in Tibet. He told that they don't want separation from China. They want modernized Tibet within the People's republic of China. The Dalai Lama said he discussed three priorities during the meeting with Obama: "the promotion of human value in order to create a better world," the promotion of religious harmony and his desire for modern education for Tibetan children. The Dalai Lama met U.S. president Obama on Thursday despite strong objections from Chinese government officials. The meeting threatened Washington and Beijing relations. Beijing calls the Nobel Peace laureate as a dangerous “separatist' who wishes to sever Tibet from China. Chinese authorities have a view that what Dalai Lama has said and done in past decades have proved that he is not a pure religious figure, but a political figure in exile who's long engaged in activities to split China and undermine ethnic unity in China under the cover of religion. Beijing thinks that Lama sells 'Tibet Independence' proposals and undermines relations between China and other countries. Authorities claim that talks between Dalai's private representatives and the Chinese Government at the end of January have demonstrated once again that the Dalai group is still clinging to their separatist propositions, including the so called “greater Tibet region” and “meaningful autonomy” whose ultimate purpose is to separate a quarter of Chinese territory from China.
