Heaslip said the actor was recovering well from his previous drug problems, but had been feeling ill with flu-like symptoms before he died. He told that he was very coherent and normal on Tuesday. His mother told that he was having a fever measuring 99 degrees and then it jumped to 101. In the night when he was sleeping, he woke up and complained that he was not feeling very good. He woke up again later and said that he was having breathing problems. Shortly after midnight, Judy saw Haim walking around before collapsing. The actor was carried to St Joseph's hospital in Burbank, where he was pronounced dead at 2.15am.
