50,000 pound raised by a 7-year-old boy for Haiti victims

A seven-year-old boy, who was moved by the devastating images of the survivors of Haiti earthquake, has raised more than 50,000 pound in a single day by riding a bicycle around his local park. A boy named Charlie Simpson, from Fulham in west London, was very upset after having a glimpse of alive children being pulled out from the wreckage in Haiti after earth quake which measures 7.0 on scale. He saw the condition of the survivor on the television he went out  and collected just 500 pound for UNICEF by cycling eight kilometers around his local park. But after noticing a small child's effort hundreds of people inspires to donate online. Entire donation made after the young kid's effort made upto 50,000 pound in just one day. Courageous boy Simpson says, “I just think it was quite sad when I saw the pictures on the TV.” The 7-year-old burst into tears after seeing the images of devastation from the Caribbean nation.
Mother of small kids says, “He sat on my lap and we had a chat about the things he could do, and how he could go about it. He decided to do the cycle ride and he made me do a sponsorship form for him and that was it. It suddenly took off.”

All collection will go to UNICEF, which is leading emergency relief clusters on water, sanitation, education and nutrition as well as supporting child protection.
