It seems that the Australian government has failed to convince Indian community, Indian students that stern actions will be taken to prevent the attacks on them. There are reports of hundreds of terrified of students leaving for India primarily due to the non- satisfactory state of security for them and the job security is also a cause of worry. The number of Indian students is approx. 150,000 and therefore their departure will mean huge loss to the Australian government of 12 to 20 lakhs per student. Secretary Federation of Indian Students of Australia (FISA), Gautam Gupta remarks on the terrible situation of the students, “ The primary reasons are lack of safe living conditions and absence of job security," . Frequent attacks have prompted students to pack their bags and leave for India.
