The man dies at the age of 113

The world's oldest man Tomoji Tanabe died when he was sleeping at his home in southern Japan due to heart fail. A city official in Miyakonojo on Japan's southern island of Kyushu said that his family members were with him at the time of that mishappenning.

Tanabe, was certified as the world's oldest man by the Guinness Book of World Records when he was 111 years old. He was born on September 18, 1895 and he had eight children. Tanabe lived with his fifth son and daughter-in-law. His was very fond of fried shrimp and Japanese miso soup with clams. He used to make himself updated with the daily newspaper when he was alive. Neither he smoked nor he drinked in his life. The former city land surveyor also had 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, according to a statement from the Miyakonojo city.

The city's mayor, Makoto Nagamine said that Tanabe was known for the symbol of the Miyakonojo, a city of long life. Nagamine said in a statement that he will surely miss him as he cheered many people. He was a very good citizen. Japanese people have the world's longest life span nearly 86 years for women and 79 years for men which is due the healthy diet which is rich in fish and rice.
