The Meteorological department has issued warnings of a cyclone and heavy rainfall in many parts of Gujarat by Wednesday evening. The forecast comes after formation of deep depression over the Arabian Sea.
The depression is expected to intensify further into a cyclonic storm and travel north-northeastwards. The system is expected to cross south Gujarat and the north Maharashtra coast between Mahuva and Dahanu in the wee hours of November 12.  The Meteorological department has said that the cyclonic storm would bring rainfall at various parts of Gujarat including Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, Bhavnagar, Baroda, Anand, Ahmedabad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli. Warning is also  issued for fishermen to abstain from venturing into the sea, as the sea condition will remain rough and turbulent. Violent winds at 35 to 45 km per hour, with their speed rising to 55 km an hour will sweep from easterly direction along the south Gujarat coast.
