Shimla is hosting a three-day international meet on climate change and its impact on forests beginning 19 November. The participants in the three-day conference on ‘Forestry Solutions’ are from Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand besides Himachal Pradesh. Experts from the US are also the part of the discussion related to problems concerning the forest under impact of climate change. Tons of delegates from different parts of India and renowned environmental scientists from across the globe are attending the three day meet. Chief scientist Environmental Defence Fund International Work Program, United States of America, Stefen Hamburg, said that understanding the changes in climate was important to help forests survive those changes. He further added that the forests are changing, in order to adapt to that changing environment we need to understand how to manage those forests and to ensure that they survive.
